Limited split 7"EP to 500 copies, released to commemorate the european tour of both bands in April 2017. Includes two exclusive recordings. Contains insert with lyrics & photos.
released May 5, 2017
Two seminal bands from the European underground Death Metal scene unite for a collector single celebrating their European tour in April 2017.
AVULSED, leaders of the Spanish Death Metal scene since their inception in 1991 are celebrating 25 years of gore frenzy with a re-recording of "Hidden Perversions", opening song from their 1996 debut full-length, "Eminence in Putrescence" while MERCYLESS, one of the elite Death Metal bands from France since their satanic conception in 1987 are celebrating 30 years of Christ desecration with a re-recording of "Without Christ", a song from their 1991 debut full-length, "Abject Offerings".
No bullshit, no sterile studio editing, just straight-to-the-point, right-in-your-face plain old-school Death Metal from the late 80’s / early 90’s revisited by the ones that helped shaping the style back in the day and prove, 25 and 30 years later respectively, that Death Meta lis here to stay, a great band never dies and greatly-crafted songs stand the test of time.
Strictly limited to 500 copies worldwide, mastered by Dan Swanö (Katatonia, Opeth, Dissection…) and with artwork by Juanjo Castellano (Vomitory, Ribspreader, Putrevore…), no doubt that even before its release, this brand new single by two of the most notable underground Death Metal acts from Europe is already a must-have item!
Co-produced by Xtreem Music & XenoKorp
Mastering by Dan Swanö at Unisound Studio

Very fun old school death metal album with quite memorable songs. It's well produced, has piercing HM-2 riffs and some great leads. Stunning cover art as well.
While not reinventing the wheel, the art of still doing great old school death in 2020 shouldn't be underestimated.
